Preschool of Rock

FAQ

  • Q

What age do you recommend introducing the Preschool of Rock program?

    A

As early as possible. Some of our most engaged children are those under 12 months. Our programs are designed for each age group. Our activities are geared toward young children to acclimate them to new sounds and noises. Many parents write us saying that the younger child (sibling of a toddler) has been more influenced by the class and gravitates towards guitars and drums before toys!

  • Q

Can you work with teachers' lesson plans?

    A

Absolutely. It is important for Preschool of Rock to integrate our program with the school’s values. We will become an extension of the school by upholding their ideals and practices. Integrating curriculum is not necessary but welcomed.

  • Q

    What instruments do you use?

    A

All of our music is performed live by an instructor on acoustic guitar, ukelele, and percussion. Each week the instructor brings a different instrument. Preschool of Rock provides individual instruments for each child for each song. This includes big gathering drums, individual drums and bongos, shakers, props (eg. pancake bowls, capes, etc.)

  • Q

What does the school or private location need to provide?

    A

A clean adequate space that is free of obstacles for the children to move and dance. Any distracting items should be placed out of reach. At least one staff member or parent must be present with the instructor at all times.

  • Q

What is the Birthday Cancellation Policy?

    A

All Birthdays must be paid in full within 15 days of the receipt of the invoice or 7 days before the party (whichever comes first). Birthdays canceled more than 30 days in advance will receive a full refund minus a 10% processing. Birthdays canceled up to 15 days in advance will receive a 50% refund. No refunds within 15 days of the party although rescheduling is an option with no rescheduling fee.

  • Q

How Many Make-ups are allowed per session, and when can I use them?

    A

Families are permitted two make-up classes per semester. Make-ups must be scheduled with the office and must occur within the current session in which the student is enrolled. Make-ups my not roll over to the upcoming session.

  • Q

What is the refund policy for classes?

    A

Tuition fee is fully refundable before the first day of the semester (minus 10% processing fee). 50% of tuition fees will be refunded up until two weeks after semester has begun for the remaining classes. No refunds after two weeks. No refunds for mini-sessions.

  • Q

How many children are in a class?

    A

15 is our maximum number of enrolled students in a class. Classes will not run with 6 or less children.

  • Q

Are classes mixed ages, how does this work?

    A

Perfectly. The older children learn to be gentle and 'take care' of the younger children. The younger children are trying to crawl around or get up and follow the older children - to bang on the drum, and to sing like them. There is no better way to learn than from your peers. Also, this allows families to attend together without splitting their children into different classes.
